Membership types

There are currently five distinct subscription groups administered by the HEAT Service. Full details of eligibility can be found in the HEAT File Store or contact HEAT Support for more details.

Core Member

These subscribing members have a rolling three year legal agreement with the HEAT Service and can be active members of decision making working groups including Governance, Steering, Research and Database Development. View the full list of Core members.

Collegiate Member

This group has access to HEAT under the Core membership, they are part of an organisation e.g. department or an official partner and the Core member will coordinate access to HEAT with data sharing in place. These are non-subscribing members, benefiting from HEAT under the Core Member subscription fee.

Affiliate Member

Organisations who are smaller higher education and non-profit making outreach providers may be eligible, by application, for Affiliate subscription at a match-funded fee. This group has the same offer as Core and are able to participate in forums and webinars to help feedback on the HEAT Service but they are not able to sit on Governance and Steering groups. Associate Member

Very small non-profit making outreach providers who are not able to join as an Affiliate Member and may apply to work collaboratively with a Core Member to benefit from the HEAT Service. The Core Member will coordinate access to HEAT with data sharing in place. These are non-subscribing members, benefiting from HEAT under the Core Member subscription fee. Uni Connect Member

Uni Connect programme partnerships who are funded by the Office for Students can subscribe to the HEAT-Uni Connect Service for the period of the programme. View the full list of Uni Connect members.
