Research Analyst
As Research Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality quantitative research for the HEAT membership, helping to shape the evaluation of widening participation activities across the UK. Working with large longitudinal datasets, you will produce robust analysis, develop insightful reporting and communicate complex findings in an accessible way, enabling members to make evidence-based decisions and maximise the impact of their work.
As a research project, the HEAT Service is hosted by the University of Kent, which will form part of the multi-university merger to the London and South East (LASE) University Group on the 1st August 2026. Opportunity Information
As Research Analyst you can expect to be involved in:
- Producing evaluation datasets and reports using robust analytical methods to support evidence-based decision making by HEAT members
- Developing business intelligence dashboards using tools such as Power BI to translate complex data into accessible insights
- Applying advanced analytical techniques to longitudinal datasets to generate evidence on the impact of educational interventions
- Presenting research findings to internal and external audiences to communicate insights and influence practice across the sector
What will you bring to the role?
- BA/BSc in a relevant degree (Social Science) or equivalent
- Proven experience of designing evaluation based on large datasets to examine the impact of a social intervention
- Experience of building Power BI or other dashboards
- Experience of data analysis software e.g. R, SPSS, Excel
