The Data Team are pleased to announce that the Key Stage 4 Attainment datasets for the exam year of 2023 are now available for download from File Store. The Key Stage 4 Attainment Dashboard has also been updated accordingly for the 2023 exam year.
This release of the KS4 Attainment data for the 2023 cohort sees the following exciting updates to the dataset:
We are pleased to announce that two updated resources, and a new, comprehensive User Guide are available:
Your dataset can be found in File Store using the provided combined search filter weblink (members only). Please download the latest file. Datasets can be accessed by the following roles: Lead, Lead Lite, Coordinator, Coordinator Lite and Users with All Reports.
Please Note: We have created datasets for 109 members this year. Due to the aggregated nature of the data (Activity Type-level, Programme Title-level and Descriptor-level) some datasets may suffer from suppressions. To comply with the requirements of the Department for Education (DfE), we must suppress counts below 10 and then perform all calculations on suppressed and rounded figures. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) and DfE have agreed that all counts of 10 or above can be rounded to the nearest 5 (rather than 10) which helps to provide more accurate results for those with smaller cohorts.
The Key Stage 4 Attainment Track Power BI Dashboard is available to download from the File Store (members only).
To use the dashboard, you must first connect it to your organisation’s dataset. For set-up instructions please see the Key Stage 4 Attainment Track User Guide which is available to download from the File Store (members only). The User Guide provides detailed information about the tracked cohort and comparator options, contains guidance on setting up and using the dashboard, and offers suggestions on how this data may support the evaluation of your outreach activities.
Please Note: It is important to read the User Guide that has been produced for this Track data release, as this resource explains how the data has been aggregated to outreach Activity-level (Activity Type-level, Programme Title-level and Descriptor-level) in order to comply with data sharing rules and guidance put in place by the Department for Education, as well as other essential information on how the dashboard should be used.
Following the release of the 2023 exam year datasets, we plan to run a webinar where the Data Team will showcase the Key Stage 4 Attainment Track Power BI Dashboard and discuss how the resource can be used to show the impact of your pre-16 attainment raising interventions. We will also be joined by Dr. Madison Kerr, Programmes Evaluation Manager at The Brilliant Club, who will share her experience of using HEAT’s KS4 Attainment Track data for evaluation.
The webinar will take place on Thursday 12th December 2024, 10:00–11:00 AM. Please see our event announcement for further information and details on how you can book your place.
The release of the 2023 exam year data also sees the release of our new HEAT Key Stage 4 Track Training Course. This training course has been developed by the Data Team to take you through each step of the Key Stage 4 Track process, including preparing your data for the matching by the Department for Education, how to set-up and navigate the Key Stage 4 Attainment Track Power BI Dashboard, and tips on using your data for evaluation.
Further details regarding this new training course and how you can access the online content will be made available soon.
If you have any queries regarding this announcement, please do not hesitate to contact HEAT Support.
