We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Membership Application Panel has arisen and we are pleased to invite any interested Core members to find out more about this important working group.
The Membership Application Panel represents the collective membership in the decision-making process required for applications from prospective member organisations who wish to join the Service.
By joining the Panel as a member, you will:
As the Panel make decisions about who joins HEAT, we need more members to ensure our other working groups can be run effectively. Whether you’re a long-time member who has wanted to join a working group, or new to the HEAT Service, this is your chance to help make decisions that will impact our future.
We would be particularly interested to invite any third sector organisations to the Panel, who are currently under-represented in this working group.
Once an application is received, the Panel is convened for an online meeting to discuss their thoughts and determine the appropriate member-type for the prospective organisation, if applicable. The Panel follows the general principles set out in the Member Eligibility flow chart. Depending on the number of applications received, the Panel either considers one application at a time or collates applications to minimise the number of meetings.
The Panel has been fundamental in supporting the launch of our two new types of HEAT membership, and have recently helped us welcome new members: the Medical Schools Council and the Dental Schools Council, Push, and The Institute for Research in Schools. Importantly, the Panel are instrumental in helping smaller organisations to join the Service.
If you would like to express interest or request an informal chat to learn more about this opportunity, please contact HEAT Support. We would be delighted to hear from you!
