After a period of testing on DEMO, the Summer 2024 Update is due to be released to the LIVE database on Tuesday 20th August 2024 at 11 AM.
As this is quite a large and complex release, we are anticipating that LIVE could be down for at least 1-2 hours during deployment. Whilst the system may be accessible during this time, please do expect intermittent issues whilst we release the changes. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience at this time.
For this release, we will be moving to a new infrastructure to handle searching. This will be a phased approach and for this release only some entities will be moved to this new infrastructure. We have implemented a mechanism to allow us to move these individually so we can coordinate accordingly to minimise disruption. We are aiming to have these switched during this deployment window. If we do encounter issues, we can handle these separately in the background, so they are completed and switched as soon as possible after LIVE release.
For this release, we will need to rebuild the Activity index. As this is a lengthy process, we will do this in the background over the weekend of 24th/25th August 2024. These indexes will be switched over on the morning of Tuesday 27th August at 9 AM, where we will need to take the system offline for a few minutes. Until this has been completed, the Activity filters “:parent-total-captured” and the “:staff-total-captured” will be out of sync.
There are a number of important upcoming changes due for deployment, including significant changes to the Activity record ‘Total Staff’ and ‘Total Parent/Carer’ fields, an update to the Postcode Profiler and Office for Students Monitoring reports, and the launch of the new Institution record Coverage tab data and export. For more information about the key and notable items in this update, and the expected impact on member data and processes, please see the Summer 2024 Update page.
