Institution Profile Underlying Dataset now available

We are pleased to announce that following popular request, the Institution Profile data is now available to download in both the Institution Profile Report workbook format, and as the Institution Profile Underlying Dataset, which is a single worksheet format containing all of the same Institution data points in a single csv file.

As the Institution Profile Underlying Dataset contains all data points in a single sheet, it may be preferable for Users who have found that they needed to join data points across multiple sheets in the Institution Profile Report. As per the Institution Profile Report, the data in the Institution Profile Underlying Dataset will be refreshed following each monthly Edubase update, and following any update to Institution Record data.

The Institution Profile Underlying Dataset format

To ensure that the Institution Profile Underlying Dataset is as easy to use as possible with consideration to the large quantity of data points contained in the dataset, the data is formatted with multiple rows per institution. This is separated out by ‘Geography Cohort’ (this is the population to which the Geography tab data refers to) and by the academic years that the Department for Education (DfE) data refers to, via the ‘DfE Dataset Academic Years’ column.

This allows the dataset to be easily filtered to contain only the most recently available Attainment/Destinations data if desired, the years for which can also be found within the Institution Profile Source Information document. The Institution Profile Source Information can be downloaded from the ellipsis menu on any Institution record, or via the File Store.
