Update on the expected arrival of the delayed HESA Track data for the 2022/23 (or earlier) Student cohort entry year
Jisc have been in contact today to let us know that they are now expecting to be in a position to send us the linked HESA data in mid to late July.
At HEAT, we need to allow a four to six week period to check and upload the data to the database. Working on this new timeline, we are now anticipating that the HESA data will be available for members to download from the HEAT database by late August 2025.
We are sorry that this update does not contain better news. We are also disappointed by the continued delays and are doing all we can to move the process along. Please accept our apologies and assurances that Jisc are prioritising our request. Jisc have told us that they are needing to undertake additional quality checks, due to the changing collection model, which are taking longer than expected.
We are planning on meeting with Jisc in August to review the process and discuss how any improvements can be made for next time.
Please also note our earlier HESA data announcement, when we let you know that, following consultation with the Research Group, we accepted updated delivery terms with Jisc. This was in regard to restricting to linked data supply to cover the Student entrant years of 2015/16 to 2022/23, due to the issues with coding the historical cohort data. Please see the following Data Update for further details as to this proposal: Important: Update on HESA Track Data.
We will provide a further update as soon as further information is available, however if you have any questions about this update, please don’t hesitate to contact us via HEAT Support.
