We’re looking for HEAT members to play a key role in guiding the future development and strategic direction of the Service. Get in touch to learn more
We are inviting interested members to join one of two important groups:
- The Governance Group
- The Steering Group
These groups provide members with a meaningful opportunity to influence key decisions, shape the strategic direction of HEAT and ensure that the Service continues to meet the needs of its diverse membership.
As a Service owned by its members, HEAT depends on a broad range of voices, experiences and perspectives. Your contribution could help guide the Service through the next decade and ensure it remains relevant, sustainable and responsive to members’ needs.
If you know a colleague who may be interested or well suited to either role, please share this opportunity with them. Strong and representative membership is essential to HEAT’s continued success.
Please note: Current members of the Steering Group are welcome to reconsider their position and express an interest in the Governance Group.
Governance Group
We are seeking two new members, particularly from lower-tariff organisations.
The Governance Group provides strategic direction and leadership to the HEAT membership. It monitors performance against service key performance indicators (KPIs) and risks, oversees financial planning and supports strong data compliance.
Who should apply?
This is an opportunity for members with a range of leadership, professional and organisational experience to make a direct contribution to the effective governance of HEAT.
What are the requirements?

Steering Group
We are seeking up to six new members, representing a mix of tariff and third-sector organisations. We also seek representation from Affiliate members.
The Steering Group plays a vital role in providing strategic guidance to the central team. Members represent the wider HEAT community and share insights that help inform decisions, improve the user experience and support the delivery of an exceptional, sustainable and collaborative Service.
Who should apply?
You do not need to be a manager or evaluator to take part. We warmly welcome all users with experience of the HEAT system who would like to help shape its future. As we embark on a three year period reviewing the system, the Steering Group will also be responsible for keeping the System Review roadmap on target.

Please note: If we receive more nominations than places available, the final selection will be made at random from the list of nominees.
