We are excited to announce Post-Entry Essentials, a brand new addition to the HEAT Online Training Framework, is available on the HEAT Moodle Board from Monday 2nd February 2026
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new course Post-Entry Essentials. This course has been created for HEAT members who would like to start recording, monitoring and evaluating their organisation’s post-entry Activity and Student data using the database.

Six Steps to Generating Impact Evidence for Post-Entry Interventions
Any users who are confident with the content of our HEAT Essentials course will recognise aspects of this module. It has been designed to equip you with the information you need to make effective use of the database’s tools to monitor and evaluate the efficacy of your post-entry interventions.
You will need a Moodle account to access online training. Login using the following button, or get started with an account with three easy steps listed below.
Learning Objectives
This course provides step-by-step guidance and supports you to:
- Set up the database for post-entry evaluation reporting
- Use targeting data to identify priority groups
- Create post-entry Activity records for evaluation
- Record Student engagement accurately
- Monitor your Student and Activity records
- Analyse outcomes and claim impact
In completing the course, you will have worked through the critical steps to help you start using the database to produce impact evidence for your post-entry work.
We strongly encourage as many HEAT users as possible to complete this course, and especially users who have an evaluation role around post-entry interventions. Whether you work through the content one stage at a time or all in one go, the course is flexible for you to complete at a pace that works for your workload and capacity. Access the online training courses now using our quick set-up instructions below. You will only need to complete Step 1 the first time you log in.
- Step 1: Create a University of Kent’s Moodle External account.
Important: Please use the same email address associated with your HEAT User account.
- Step 2: Complete account set-up from your confirmation email by selecting the link provided to your email address.
Important: Once you have completed Step 1 and 2, you will need to clink the link to HEAT’s Moodle Board below.
- Step 3: Access HEAT’s Moodle Board to view all available courses – you may be prompted to log in again.
We recommend saving the HEAT Moodle Board link as a favourite in your browser for quick access next time.
