- HEAT Privacy Notice Update: Changes to reflect the new multi-university merger to the London South East University Group
Following on from the announcement of the University of Kent and the University of Greenwich merger to form an enlarged institution operating as a multi-university group, we are making changes to the HEAT website, including the updating of names within the Privacy Notice
The University of Kent and the University of Greenwich merger will take effect on 1st August 2026. Upon completion of the merger, the University of Greenwich will be repurposed to operate as the multi-university group and will change its name to the London and South East University Group (LASEUG). All the rights, obligations and liabilities of the University of Kent will be transferred to LASEUG.
After 31st July 2026, all public references to the University of Kent will be replaced with the London and South East University Group. The HEAT Privacy Notice and Data Protection Policy will be updated to reflect the merger. We recognise that there may be further changes to specific details, such as the Data Protection team contact details and links to specific documents once the merger is complete.
May we take this opportunity to reiterate that we do not anticipate any disruption to service delivery. There will be no changes to the terms of the agreement, other than the substitution of the contracting entity. All rights and obligations will transfer to LASE, and our service will continue without interruption.
