We are pleased to announce that the HEAT Service has been working hard with the team at Gecko to develop a new resource aimed at helping members streamline their use of Gecko and the HEAT database.
Thanks to your feedback, we have collaborated with Gecko to design a process that makes the two systems work together. This process aims to simplify how Student data is transferred from Gecko into the HEAT Student record and we would now love to hear what you think.
The first stage of this collaboration is that we are now able to share a User Guide detailing how to capture information in Gecko and transfer this to the HEAT Student record via a simplified Student Import file. The aim of this Guide is to make it easier and faster to transfer data. We invite members to test this process and give your thoughts to feed into enhancing the Gecko / HEAT experience.
After reviewing member feedback, Gecko and HEAT will hold a webinar to showcase the process in Spring 2026.
HEAT members can download the new Transferring Student Data from Gecko to HEAT User Guide from File Store. Each section of the User Guide has an Aim and Action. We recommend performing each Action and giving your feedback on whether each Action achieves the relevant section’s Aim.
The Aims of each section are:
We are looking to receive feedback by the end of December 2025. If you would like to test the new User Guide, we suggest giving your feedback in one of two ways.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this work so far. Your input is always appreciated, and we cannot do this without you. If you have any questions about this announcement, please contact HEAT Support.
