As the need for system changes has greatly reduced, the Database Development Panel (DDP) has agreed for the number of technical releases to be two a year from 2024 onwards. Additionally, we consider it is in the interest of good practise to change our release day from a Friday to a Tuesday due to the expertise we rely upon being more readily available at this time. We always aim to minimise downtime and give advance notice as much as possible. In light of this, the technical release dates for the next three years are as follows:
Release of/to | Demo 11AM | Live 11AM |
Summer 2024 | Tuesday 16th July 2024 | Tuesday 20th August 2024 |
Winter 2024 | Tuesday 12th November 2024 | Tuesday 10th December 2024 |
Summer 2025 | Tuesday 15th July 2025 | Tuesday 19th August 2025 |
Winter 2025 | Tuesday 11th November 2025 | Tuesday 9th December 2025 |
Summer 2026 | Tuesday 21st July 2026 | Tuesday 18th August 2026 |
Winter 2026 | Tuesday 10th November 2026 | Tuesday 8th December 2026 |
We will, of course, send out the usual scheduled communications as these events occur but we suggest adding these events to your diary now to minimise disruption to your future work routine.
In August, we announced the commencement of our System Review. The review has been sliced into three phases and we are very much in the throes of Phase I, the collating of information. Many of you have graciously given time to talk about your likes and dislikes, how you use HEAT now and any plans for the future. We will continue with the gathering of information with the aim of having a fair membership representation. Early next year, we will outline next steps, including the introduction of design forums where specific areas of the system are looked at in detail. Please do keep an eye out for these groups and come along to any that may be of interest.
Finally, a big thank you to the DDP and everyone who has contributed to all things technical throughout 2023. We cannot do it without you and I for one look forward to working with you again in 2024. In the meantime, if you have any questions or feedback, feel free to contact HEAT Support.
