We are pleased to announce that following our consultation with CACI Acorn licenced HEAT members, we will be commencing with the proposed transition from the old to the new classification of Acorn, and are in the process of arranging delivery and receipt of the new data from CACI. This transition will implement the new version of Acorn into the HEAT system postcode data, via an update to the Postcode Profiler underlying dataset.
The implementation of new Acorn into the Postcode Profiler will be implemented as soon as is practically possible. Upon receipt of the data, we will update the DEMO database, run our standard testing procedure, and release to LIVE. Further information and a firm deadline pertaining to this update will be made available in due course.
For further information on how Acorn works and has been developed, please see the CACI website.
Following the integration of new Acorn data into the Postcode Profiler underlying dataset, for HEAT members with a CACI license, this will result in the new Acorn data feeding through to the following locations and fields on the database:
Following the integration and to support members with the transition to the new version of Acorn , we will be providing a version of the Postcode Profiler underlying text file matched to the old Acorn as a text file on the File Store, should Acorn license members require the data.
Upon our next annual receipt of the updated Acorn data in November 2025, we will no longer be providing access to both the old version of Acorn in the File Store, but access to new Acorn data will continue to be provided via the Postcode Profiler Report and underlying dataset.
If you would like to know more or have any queries regarding this update, please do not hesitate to contact HEAT Support.
