Institution record data update: Overall and Persistent Absence Percentages for English Institutions

We are pleased to announce that the following fields have been updated for English institutions, where data is available:

• ‘Percentage of Overall Absence’
• ‘Percentage of Persistent Absence’

These fields can be found in the Characteristics tab of an Institution record, under the section titled ‘Other Characteristics’.

The fields are also included in the General Tab of the Institution Profile Report and are exportable via an Institution Export. The Institution Profile Report can be downloaded via the Reports section of the database (members only), and contains the Characteristics tab data, alongside other key demographical Institution data such as the Destinations and Attainment tabs.

This update relates to data for the 2023/24 Academic Year, which is the most recent available dataset, and the update applies to Primary and Secondary Phase institutions.

For further information regarding which fields are updated for each country’s update, please see the Institution Profile Source resource, which can be accessed via the ellipsis (overflow menu) on any Institution record (members only) by selecting the option to ‘Download Source File’.
