- Institution record data update: Overall and Persistent Absence Percentages for English institutions
The Institution records for English Primary and Secondary institutions have now been updated with the Absence percentages data pertaining to 2024/25
We are pleased to announce that the following fields have been updated for English institutions, where data is available:
- ‘Percentage of Overall Absence’
- ‘Percentage of Persistent Absence’
These fields can be found in the Characteristics tab of an Institution record, under the section titled ‘Other Characteristics’. This update relates to data for the 2024/25 Academic Year, which is the most recent available dataset, and applies to Primary and Secondary Phase institutions.
Export Institution Data for Targeting
These fields are also included in the General tab of the Institution Profile Report and can be exported from the database via an Institution Export.
The Institution Profile Report contains the Characteristics tab data alongside other key demographical information, such as the Destinations and Attainment data, to support effective targeting of schools and colleges based on learner characteristics. It is available for download from the Reports section of the database (members only).

This can be accessed via the ellipsis (overflow menu) on any Institution record (members only) by selecting the option to ‘Download Source File’. Alternatively, this resource can be downloaded from the File Store (members only).
