Institution record data update: Geography data for Welsh institutions

We are pleased to announce that the following fields have been updated for Welsh institutions, where data is available:

• POLAR4 by Quintile, Count and Percentage
• Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) by Quintile, Count and Percentage

These updated fields can be found in the ‘Office for Students (OfS) Young Participation by area’ and ‘Indices of Deprivation’ sections of the Geography tab of an Institution record. The fields are also exportable via an Institution Profile Report (members only), which can be found on the Reports section of HEAT.

This update relates to data for the 2024/25 Academic Year, which is the most recent available data. The update applies to Welsh Primary, Special and Secondary Phase institutions.

For further information regarding which fields are updated on the Institution record and when, please see the Institution Profile Source resource. This can be accessed via the ellipsis (overflow menu) on any Institution record by selecting the option to ‘Download Source File’. Alternatively, this resource can be downloaded from the File Store (members only).
