Institution record data update: Geography data for English and Scottish Institutions

We are pleased to announce that the following fields have been updated for English and Scottish institutions, where data is available:

• TUNDRA LSOA by Quintile, Count and Percentage
• TUNDRA MSOA by Quintile, Count and Percentage
• POLAR4 by Quintile, Count and Percentage
• Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) by Quintile and Decile, Count and Percentage
• Education, Skills and Training (EST) by Quintile and Decile, Count and Percentage
• Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI) by Quintile and Decile, Count and Percentage

These fields can be found in the Geography tab of an Institution record, under the sections titled ‘Office for Students (OfS) Young Participation by area’ and ‘Indices of Deprivation’. This update relates to data for the 2025/26 Academic Year, which is the most recent available dataset, and applies to English Primary, Secondary and Post-16 institutions and the Scottish Primary and Secondary Phase institutions.

Export Institution Data for Targeting

These fields are also exportable via an Institution Profile Report, which can be found on the Reports section of the database (members only).

The Institution Profile Report contains the Geography tab data alongside other key demographical information, such as the Destinations and Attainment data, to support effective targeting of schools and colleges based on learner characteristics.
