Advice from OFFA regarding withdrawal of NS-SEC data

Following the decision that HESA will no longer publish the NS-SEC WP performance indicators in 2017, HEAT contacted OFFA to ask for guidance on alternative measures for socioeconomic status that could be used in Access Agreements. OFFA advised the use of one or more alternative measures such as household income, IMD, FSM, IDACI and ACORN, but warned that institutions should use the measure(s) they choose consistently, be aware of their shortcomings and look out for bias.
