The HEAT membership voted recently on whether to invest HEAT resource in the development of an online registration tool that will ease the collection of registers. 70% of those who voted said that this tool would be useful and that HEAT should invest in its development. This tool will have automatic interface with the database and allow for some local customisation.
We also received helpful feedback from users on desired functionality. Although the available budget prevents us from developing all the features requested by the survey respondents, we can develop a tool that will allow for basic data collection. However, we may have to put enhanced features on hold for development under a sustainable HEAT Service (again further development will be decided by the membership). We are hoping to have this tool in place for 2017-18 and will ask members to test the tool later this academic year.
